Meet Ms. Moore!
I moved to North Carolina from Pennsylvania after graduating college. My major in college was Elementary Education and I have a minor in Special Education. I am a National Board Certified Teacher and I have a Master's Degree.
Over the summers I get to travel because I help run the kids club for Holland America Line. I've had the pleasure of visiting Europe. I went to Italy, France, Spain, Croatia, Greece, and Monaco. I also was able to visit England and Scotland. Additionally, I have been to the Caribbean (Half Moon Key, St. Thomas, Puerto Rico, Grand Turk), Mexico (Cabo, Puerto Vallarta, Mazatlan), Bermuda, many places in Canada (Nova Scotia, Quebec City, Montreal, Victoria, etc. ), and Alaska. This is an amazing experience and I am thankful for the opportunity.
I truly enjoy fitness! I am a member at the YMCA. I also like to run around in the neighborhoods near Barnette. I enjoy the greenways in Charlotte too!
Although I enjoy fitness, I also enjoy FOOD! My favorite nearby upscale restaurant is Dresslers! I also enjoy many local favorites around Huntersville (Bad Daddy's, Brixx, Eez, Red Rocks, Jason's Deli, Viva Chicken, City Barbecue, Duckworth's, and the list goes on!). I do enjoy Starbucks as well. I love to shop and enjoy Target and Amazon!
I don't really love sweets, so go easy on the chocolate (lol)! So no need to worry about sending in chocolate! My sweet tooth goes straight to Starbucks and I indulge that way instead.
One of my favorite places to visit is the beach! The beach is truly my 'happy place'! Some of my favorite beaches are Hilton Head, Oak Island, and Folly Beach. Although, ANY beach would serve its purpose just fine in my book! I just may move to a beach community one day!
During my free time, I do like to enjoy all that Charlotte has to offer! I like to visit the Whitewater Center, attend sporting events, run on the greenway, walk the streets of communities such as NoDa, eat at the amazing restaurants, attend special events (such as the Greek Festival), SHOP, and sometimes I run in a 5K. I enjoy heading downtown for lunch, breakfast, or dinner. I live in Charlotte only about 15 minutes from uptown.
I am from outside of Philadelphia, so I grew up watching the Philadelphia, Eagles and the Penn State, Nittany Lions. I have grown to love the Panthers too because I do find the community gets very excited when they win and it is fun around here!
I was born in New York. Then my family moved to San Jose, CA. My parents moved our family across the country to PA (that was a long car ride with NO TECHNOLOGY...lol) where I spent many years. I also lived in Orlando, FL and while there I worked at Walt Disney World in the Magic Kingdom. I loved FL and the sunshine!
I truly believe in our school! I do have high expectations for students and it sometimes takes them the first quarter to adjust to that. Be patient. I promise they ALWAYS adjust to it and they grow to love the high expectations, math, and me! I believe in connecting with students and their families. I love hearing about sporting events, trips, fun weekends, etc. Your children love to share and it makes me happy that I have the opportunity to make them feel important by listening. I look forward to providing your children with a top notch education.
To the parents of my students, thank you for sharing your child with me this year. Thank you for remaining positive and respectful during conversations we have throughout the year. I am here for you and your child, so let's work together to have a successful year for everyone. We will be on this journey together and our partnership is extremely important. Please feel free to contact me! [email protected]
